LET'S "FRAME" FRAME
PARK WITH EYEGLASSES!
About 153 million people in the world need corrective lenses. How
can you help those in need?
Lions Recycle For Sight is an international program whereby used
eyeglasses are collected, cleaned, classified by prescription and
cataloged. They are then sent to underserved areas in developing
countries where volunteer Lions and others do vision exams and fit
people for glasses. These glasses often make the difference between
a life of abject poverty and a productive self-sustaining member
of our world.
Someone from the Lions or Lioness Club will be at the pancake breakfast
at the Schuetze Recreation Center on January 19, 2008 to take your
eyeglasses and hearing aids. Boxes are also located in many establisments,
including all the Waukesha Public Schools, Waukesha State Bank,
WalMart, many vision offices and other businesses. We will be stationed
at several other events around town also. If you can't deliver them
to one of these locations call Doris Dolph at (262) 695-0805.
